Naxalites again on Saturday attacked a police jawan near Chintagufa police camp, situated in the naxal-hit Sukma district, leaving him grievously injured.
The injured constable was later brought to Maharani Hospital by helicopter, where he is presently undergoing treatment, informed police sources.
According to information, police constable Tribhuvan Netaam had gone to a nearby pond for taking bath on Saturday morning, when Naxalites opened fire at him. Alarmed by the noise of firing, police team from Chhindgarh police station rushed to the spot and counter-fired the naxalites.
