I crave your two cents. When you show me other designers’ work I get drunk on it. I want to create sauce that powerful. And your feedback, your ideas, your links, your articles, your comments, your thoughts, your likes, your retweets, your votes, your emails, all of that is part of what I love about sharing what I’m working on
If you’ve never experienced the kind of obsession that I’m about to talk about, do you like the thing that you spend most of your time doing?
2. Just because I can, doesn’t mean I have to for the sake of stability. I actually don’t mind living on white rice from the Asian market across the street from my apartment.
And it’s ok when Chase bank texts me each morning to tell me my personal bank account is slowly shrinking. Why? Because, for once in my life, I’m doing what I believe in. I’m going to college because that’s the accepted thing. I have ALWAYS said college is not for everyone, but this college thing has served as a constant reminder of what I don’t want for myself.
The friends are great — I love them. The professors are smart. But I DO NOT want to get a signing bonus, or a benefits package, or a $60K salary to do something that I am just capable of doing. Just because I can, doesn’t mean I have to. I am ok with not having money to spend on Red Headed Slut shots at this amazing place called Fever like my friends. I’d rather talk to the girl who sells hotdogs at the corner of the bars then some of the people in that “club”.
